Surgery
Prevention
While surgery is sometimes a necessary and important intervention, it often addresses only the symptoms of a deeper underlying dysfunction. Although surgery may provide temporary relief, the persistent neuromuscular patterns that stress joints throughout the body remain unaddressed. This can result in limited long-term relief or even future injuries at the same joint or elsewhere along the kinetic chain.
Joint and connective tissue damage occurs when large forces are applied to small surface areas, often due to the body using improper kinetic circuits. This misalignment causes force to move through the body in ways it was not designed to handle, leading to further injury.
While some conditions are too severe for neuromuscular training alone to resolve, we have successfully helped many patients who believed surgery was their only option. Surgeries that have been prevented include:
Spinal fusion
Spinal disc replacement/repair
Hip dysplasia/hip impingement correction
Shoulder rotator cuff repair
Knee arthroscopy or replacement
Neuro-Kinetic Training (NKT) optimizes joint mechanics by positioning them to absorb the internal and external forces generated during movement. Unlike traditional physical therapy, which often focuses on improving joint posture, NKT provides a comprehensive, full-body solution that redefines how you move from head to toe. As the physics of a joint change throughout a movement, muscle engagement must also change dynamically to maintain joint safety and equilibrium with the rest of the body.
Our approach is more intensive than traditional physical therapy because it aims to transform full-body movement patterns, addressing issues that other modalities may not have resolved. For those who have not yet tried physical therapy, we recommend starting there, as it can often provide quicker and easier relief. However, for those who have tried other methods without success, NKT offers a deeper, more lasting solution.
